The use of regular insulin in subshock doses for the treatment¢¥ of anorexia, undernutrition and anxiety in pulmonary tuberculosis has been discussed. Eighteen patients were treated for one months with single daily doses of 45?50 units of insulin, which increased daily by 5 units from a starting level of 10 units. Anorexia immediately disappeared after using of insulin. Anxiety and insomnia also disappeared within 5 days after insulin administration. Weight gain was recorded in all patients. (max. 5. 6Kg, min. 1. 5Kg, mean 2.7Kg.) According to the following observation of 2 to 3 months, 11 patients have lost a part of gained weight, 5 patients showed ¡°no change,¡± 2 patients gradually gained weight. Decreased E.S.R. was noted in 2 cases (1 male, 1 female), Increased number of R.B.C. was recorded in 3 males and I felmal patients. It was not shown any change in urine or detection of A.F.B. in these cases.
